Opferpraxis und Sündenbock im Medienzeitalter
Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2017 im Fachbereich Medien / Kommunikation - Forschung und Studien, Note: 2,3, Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach am Main, Veranstaltung: Seminar Gewalt II, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Welche Funktion hat der Opferstatus heute und welche der Sündenbock, wer profitiert davon? Warum ist das Opfer-sein mittlerweile regelrecht begehrt obwohl es gemeinhin als nicht erstrebenswert gilt und neben Identifikation und Mitleid gleichermaßen Ausgrenzung und Hass hervorrufen kann? Ich beschränke mich in meinen Ausführungen, wie auch die Autorin Kirstin Breitenfellner, auf die westliche Kultur. Ich möchte zunächst in aller Kürze einen historischen Abriss auf Grundlage des Buches skizzieren um einen Überblick für den Rest der Arbeit zu ermöglichen und die Begriffe klar zuzuordnen. Anschließend werde ich konkrete Beispiele der heutigen Zeit anführen und untersuchen, inwieweit die Auswüchse der Opferpraxis auch unsere heutige Gesellschaft unterwandern, um schließlich Breitenfellners Lösungsansätze aufzugreifen und eigene Schlussüberlegungen zu formulieren.In dem Buch "Wir Opfer ¿ Warum der Sündenbock unsere Kultur bestimmt" von Kirstin Breitenfellner wird unsere Zeit und Kultur auf den Opferbegriff hin untersucht und das Vorhandensein einer Opferkultur attestiert. Besonders in den Medien sind wir laut Breitenfellner längst nicht über den archaischen Opferkult hinweg. Kriege, Mord und Terror stehen im Fokus der westlichen Gesellschaft wie scheinbar nie zuvor. Ist der Ritus nun auch subtiler geworden, so ist die Spaltung zwischen Täter und Opfer und damit zusammenhängende Zuschreibungen und Projektionen gängige Praxis unserer Kultur.
