L' edile numero 33. Le mani della Cia sull'Italia degli anni Sessanta
Il 9 ottobre del 1963 gli operai edili della capitale, organizzati dai sindacati confederali di categoria, rispondono con una manifestazione di protesta alla serrata decisa dall'associazione dei costruttori (il contesto storico è quello segnato dall'imminente ingresso del Psi nel primo governo di centro-sinistra). In Piazza Santi Apostoli la manifestazione, molto partecipata, viene repressa con inusitata durezza dalle forze di polizia: 500 lavoratori vengono fermati, per 33 di loro scatta l'arresto. Ci vorranno quasi trent'anni per scoprire che a ispirare (e a provocare) l'attacco della Celere ai danni degli operai edili erano stati agenti di Gladio: una sorta di prova generale in vista della progettata liquidazione per vie illegali del Pci e del movimento operaio organizzato da parte dei 'poteri forti' dell'epoca. Il libro ricostruisce gli avvenimenti occorsi sessant'anni fa attraverso la voce narrante di Luciana Castellina, al tempo giovane funzionaria del Partito comunista e testimone oculare degli scontri al termine della manifestazione sindacale (fu una dei 33 edili finiti in prigione e in seguito processata e condannata): 'Non una manifestazione come un'altra - ricorda oggi - ma uno dei più incredibili, illegali complotti che hanno segnato la storia del nostro Paese'.
