Literatur im Museum und literarische Musealität

Unter Rückgriff auf Ansätze der Museologie und der kulturwissenschaftlich erweiterten Literaturwissenschaft entwickelt diese Studie Analysemodelle, um literarische Praktiken im Museum und museale Aspekte in der Literatur zusammenzudenken. Dies eröffnet neue Zugänge zu Autorinnen und Autoren, die in beiden Feldern aktiv sind, und bietet ungewöhnliche Perspektiven auf deren Gesamtwerk. Erprobt werden diese Ansätze anhand zweier Autoren, die hier erstmals ausführlich unter dem Aspekt der Musealität untersucht werden: Jean-Philippe Toussaint und Michel Houellebecq. Toussaints Ausstellung Livre/Louvre und Houellebecqs Ausstellung Rester Vivant werden dazu jeweils im Kontext des literarischen Gesamtwerks der Autoren betrachtet.

Männlichkeit als Negativum bei Michel Houellebecq, Will Self und Tiziano Scarpa

Während Männlichkeit früher vorrangig mit positiven Eigenschaften attribuiert worden ist, wird sie nun zunehmend als eine negative oder gar bedrohliche gesellschaftliche Kraft wahrgenommen. Der Autor dieser Studie greift diese gesellschaftliche Tendenz auf und untersucht anhand einer Reihe von literarischen Texten von sogenannten ¿Skandalautoren" (Michel Houellebecq, Will Self und Tiziano Scarpa) wie die Literatur der Postmoderne Männlichkeit als Negativum konstruiert und in den Mittelpunkt ihrer provokanten Schockästhetik stellt. Dabei zeigt sich, dass das Bild einer rein negativen Männlichkeit vorrangig benutzt wird, um eine radikale Kritik an den gesellschaftlichen Entwicklungen der letzten Jahrzehnte zu üben.
