Earthquake Engineering for Resilience introduces a multi-scale framework for assessing seismic vulnerability and improving resilience across structures, communities, and infrastructure. It combines research and practical applications across engineering, urban planning and disaster-risk management.
Prof. Fadzli Mohamed Nazri is a Professor of Civil Engineering at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). His expertise lies in structural and earthquake engineering, with particular emphasis on seismic performance evaluation, resilience-based design, and infrastructure safety. He has led and contributed to numerous research projects related to seismic vulnerability assessment and disaster risk mitigation. Prof. Fadzli has published widely in international journals and has supervised numerous postgraduate students. His work supports the advancement of resilient infrastructure systems and evidence-based seismic design practices.
Dr. Moustafa Moufid Kassem is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering at Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. His research focuses on earthquake engineering, seismic vulnerability and resilience assessment, and performance-based analysis of buildings and infrastructure systems. He has published extensively on seismic fragility modeling, recovery-based resilience evaluation, and transportation network performance under seismic hazards. Dr. Kassem is actively involved in interdisciplinary research and aims to bridge analytical modeling with practical applications for disaster risk reduction and sustainable infrastructure development.
