Kaye was born in Northumberland, England, then moved to Lancashire for her formative years, between age eight and eighteen. After Teacher Training, (her first appointment was in the prettily-named pit-village of Shiney Row, during the Miner's Strike), she worked for a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed Hons) whilst teaching during the day. After moving to Kent - The Garden of England - after marrying, she was Deputy Head, and then Acting Head, of a lovely village school before the birth of her son. A move to Hertfordshire followed, where she worked part-time in Special Educational Needs, whilst her husband worked in London.
Having become accustomed to moving around, when her husband's career took them to Melbourne, Australia, it did not seem like such a big deal. However, two years turned to four and then fourteen.
She enjoys volunteer work, like writing biographies for patients in Palliative Care in the Home, and working in Day Oncology (The Wig Room). Writing has always been a passion, one that followed her into adulthood from youth, resulting in several books. She still lives in Melbourne with her husband, son, and a crazy rescue dog named Peaches.
