In-Laws and All: A Survival Guide explores the complex in-law dynamic and how to overcome obstacles preventing harmonious relationships. Though it is a serious and sometimes painful topic, the book is seasoned with humor. With vignettes and the lessons learned from them, Dr. Bracha Loren illustrates how to restore relationships that seem doomed and turn them into flourishing ones. In-Laws and All covers traditional heterosexual marriages along with same-sex marriages and other committed relationships.
Bracha Loren has practiced as a marriage and family therapist for more than twenty years. Her experiences, both professionally and personally, inspired her to address the many issues with in-law relationships.
Beyond her clinical experience, Loren taught "Making Marriage Work," a program designed to guide pre-marital couples in establishing their married lives. She also taught a master's level course to marriage and family therapists on how to approach and treat individuals and couples. Loren leads a series of courses in increasing intimacy between couples and has lectured extensively and led many group discussions on the topic of in-laws.
Loren is originally from Tel Aviv, Israel, and currently lives in Los Angeles, California. She spends her time dancing, reading, writing, traveling, and creating adventures with her nine grandchildren.
