Omschrijving

The debate about Christianity and other religions has stalled. The book aims to overcome this by enabling both theologians and pastoral workers to work out where they stand with regard not just to other faith traditions but to a variety of issues that arise for religious faith of any kind in a secular pluralist world.

It invites and amply rewards attentive reading.

Barnes is incapable of cliché and the argument of the book is exemplified in its writing. It is a gem and draws one to walk away from reading into engagement, almost to 'test' the penetrating depth of his vision.

Waiting on Grace is a further step in the development of an original approach to theology of interreligious dialogue undertaken by Father Michael Barnes, a British Jesuit priest who taught for more than thirty years at Heythrop College in the University of London

Michael Barnes is a British Jesuit priest who taught for more than thirty years at Heythrop College in the University of London, during which time he was Director of Westminster Interfaith (a diocesan agency for inter-faith relations) and also ran the De Nobili Centre for Dialogue in Southall, West London. He is the author of several books and many articles on various aspects of interreligious relations. He now teaches at the University of Roehampton and is a Research Associate at the School of Advanced Study in the University of London.
