There is growing consensus about the threat of global warming, that our planet will continue to warm up as the concentration of greenhouse gases increases in the future. The agriculture sector is particularly vulnerable to the negative impacts of climate change.
Tatsuji Koizumi is a chief economist for the Policy Research Institute, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (PRIMAFF), Japan. He served as an agricultural policy analyst at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) (2019- 2022), as a project coordinator (2011-2015) and an agricultural economist (2001-2003) with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, and a guest researcher at the Economic Research Service (ERS), USDA (1999-2000). He holds a PhD in agricultural economics from Nihon University (Japan). He has published 22 books, 50 academic journals and 110 reports for agricultural commodity markets. He concurrently serves as a professor (Government-Academia Collaboration Program) of Tohoku University and other universities in Japan.
