Kathy Rogers is a guidebook researcher at Vertebrate Publishing, an award-winning publisher that specialises in outdoors books, and the UK’s number one publisher of cycling guides. She has researched and written content for books and guidemaps including The Outdoor Swimming Guide, Big Rides: Great Britain and Ireland, Big Trails: Heart of Europe and Big Trails: Great Britain and Ireland. She is an enthusiastic, if unaccomplished, walker, fellrunner and cyclist and when not at her desk, she is usually to be found knee-deep in bog in the Peak District. Markus Stitz is a German-born route designer, filmmaker, photographer and writer, based in Edinburgh, Scotland. He caught the adventure bug while living in New Zealand and has explored Great Britain extensively since he moved here in 2009. After cycling 34,000 kilometres around the world on a single-speed mountain bike he founded Bikepacking Scotland and has worked across Scotland, designing gravel and bikepacking routes for Wild About Argyll, Perthshire Gravel, Visit East Lothian and the Cateran Ecomuseum. Markus is an ultra-endurance racer, with three successful finishes of the Highland Trail 550, along with single finishes of the Silk Road Mountain Race and the Atlas Mountain Race. Markus’s writing has appeared in a wide variety of magazines and online publications including Singletrack, Cycling UK, Cranked, CyclingTips and Yellow Jersey; he also co-edited Big Rides: Great Britain & Ireland.
