The volume offers a wide horizon on D. H. Lawrence’s search for an ideal primitive society in a pristine natural environment. It lends itself to an interesting comparison with today’s reality, with a particular focus on Sardinia. It combines literature and photography in order to analyse Sicilian and Sardinian society.
Nick Ceramella is currently Vice President of the D. H. Lawrence Society of Great Britain. His latest teaching position was at the University of Trento, Italy. His most recent contributions to the Lawrence canon include “‘Piano’: Swinging between Past and Present” in The Marriage between Literature and Music (2022); “Blake and Lawrence between the Relative and the Absolute” (2020); “In and Out of London: D. H. Lawrence’s Nightmarish Experience, 1914-1919” (2021); “Lawrence’s Polyphonic Web of Words” (2019); and “Lawrence at the Theatre: Meeting Actors and Audiences” (2017).Daniele Marzeddu studied Conservation of Cultural Heritage at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. Since the early 2000s, he has collaborated with private and public institutions in Portugal, Spain, Italy and the UK. He is an award-winning photographer and filmmaker, and is a member of shootingpeople.org Independent Filmmakers Network, documentando.org Documentary Filmmakers, and A-N The Artists Information Company.
