Gizem Serdar Ömür graduated from Karadeniz Technical University's English Language and Literature Department, Turkey, in 2013. She spent the academic year of 2011-2012 at Universita degli Studi di Salerno in Italy as an undergraduate student. She completed her MA at the English Language and Literature Department of Istanbul Kültür University, Turkey, in 2022. She is currently completing her PhD in the same field, and she has presented scholarly papers at different conferences about English literature and literary theory. Her research interests include gender studies, feminism, posthumanism, and ecocriticism. She has been working as an English teacher in the Turkish Ministry of National Education since 2014. She takes an active role as a teacher trainer in partnership with the British Council of National Education.
