The late Charles P. Mitchell was a professional librarian and served two terms as chairman of the Southern Maine Library District. He wrote major film articles for Classic Images, Filmfax, Big Reel and Videoscope. He lived in Millinocket, Maine. His writings about music appeared in High Fidelity, The Listening Post, Goldmine, The Forecaster, and The Music Box. He also hosted radio shows about classical music in New York City and Portland, Maine.
